Is my power that brings me to advertising, or is it a question of the United Kingdom of Google?
I am an American user matched using HTTP tunnel with Proxifier remain anonymous while surfing and circumvent packet filters that ISPs use my school. As a result I am redirected to Google's UK default when you open Firefox. However, when I type "google.com" in the address bar and goto, led me to an ad for Verizon FiOS (see capture Screen on the link below). When I go to "www.google.com" or "goog.co.uk" I am directed to the real Google. Is this something that everyone in the UK experience when you go to Google, or a result of the use of proxy programs, or something else? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3265/2336384395_252cf433b8_o.png Note: Please do not post a response if they know or have only to express an opinion without a factual basis. If you need any further information please specify.
Looking at the facts must be one of the following: 1. Provider proxy applications run on advertising – google.com. 2. Due to spyware / adware infection. 3. Verizon FiOS searchjacking – Read the relevant source I have listed. Obviously require more tests to further comments.
