apache mod proxy html
October 23rd, 2010 by admin

Is there a program to check if HTTP traffic is well formed?

I’m having a weird problem with an Apache HTTPD server in front of a Tomcat 5.5 server. Some Java based sites randomly show HTTP headers in the webpage. I know how to validate the HTML, but I wondered if there is a tool to validate the HTTP traffic. I suspect I might be sending bad headers or missing some.

It is Apache 2.2.4 with mod_proxy_ajp + Tomcat 5.5.15 + Java 1.5 on BSD.

I really like Ethereal for any type of network traffic. It may not be HTTP at all…never know for sure until you check everything! It is good for sniffing HTTP as well.

For OpenBSD:
