DNS Proxy disabled gateway cannot check POP mail?

I use yahoo as a POP3 server in Netscape pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk. When I plug through any other connection such as GPRS, no problems. But when I go to college through my wi fi CCProxy used as gateway software proxy and have to enter proxy settings as 192.168.1.1 and port 808, which can not connect to pop server. The reason is that the DNS is disabled in software proxy server in the university – to allow saw that my problem is solved. But my college ppl dont let me turn on DNS permanently. I am in a hurry. I tried everything, and give the address 192.168.1.1 and the IP to the main server (cannot reveal) Nothing works. HEEEELLLLLP need to check my email and send using POP mail client software I can not change my proxy server software at the university. Read carefully my problem seems to not understand
