download proxy avoidance software
September 14th, 2011 by admin

Why is downloading LimeWire an issue now?

I had LimeWire in the past and because of sporadic downloading issues I was having, I uninstalled it to try other P2P software- which didn’t turn out to be any better. So now I’m trying to download LimeWire again and I my security system (Trend Micro PC-Cillin) keeps blocking the download page saying that it’s “spyware” and “hacking/proxy avoidance”. I could just turn off my security for long enough for it to download but obviously it’s giving me those messages for a reason. I’m just confused because I didn’t have this problem when I downloaded it the first time. Has LimeWire changed? Should I not download it? Can anyone recommend a GOOD P2P software program?

It might depend on where you downloaded Limewire from. There is only one REAL Limewire. http://www.limewire.com and nowhere else (except download.com). Too many scam Limewires out there.

Yes Limewire has changed a bit. It changed in response to the recent lawsuit against them. At least they didn’t roll over and submit like BearShare and eMule did. Those are now pay sites.

You might try Frostwire ( http://www.frostwire.com ). It connects to the same network as Limewire does.
