please help me get my PS3 on the internet !!!!!?

I connect to my cable modem speed high to my ps3 with ethernet cable. i create a network connection in the ps3. i easy to choose the IP configuration. I then manually enter the IP address, subnet mask, default router and primary and secondary DNS servers. then I got under MTU office (which I have no idea what it is), no use for the proxy server, and enable UPnP (which I have no idea what is good). Then I will test the connection. succeeds in obtaining the IP address but then fails on internet connection was an error saying that solving the name with the server. WHAT IS WRONG !!!?!? Please tell me what is wrong so I can get my PS3 ON THE INTERNET AND YOU CAN GET 12 POINTS!

I have no idea about the PS3, but I think you should be able to configure it as DHCP in order to grab the IP information automatically being logged verse an IP address. I ave a friend who has a PS3. Probably I'll look at it this weekend to see how he has his setup. Perhaps I can pass information for you if someone can not help.
