Why use a web proxy
One of the primary reasons people want to use a proxy is to make all the blocked content, which may contain some words that the filter network has identified as inappropriate. Many organizations use filters to enable them to control how and what is seen through its network. This usually do to stop employees looking for sites not related to their job description or just to stop seeing inappropriate material. This is usually achieved by using keywords that are programmed into the filter web. The filter will block any web pages or the site that contains these keywords in particular.
Although it may not necessarily block access to various websites that are unrelated to employment, may also change in access to pages and glossaries that are useful in their jobs regardless of whether the keyword is present or not. Filters these days are increasingly sophisticated ore as the means to bypass web filters and get around blocks of the network are increasing and causing problems for the networks.
If an employee of a company, or a student at a university, blocked their access to the Internet in some way may choose to use a proxy website to avoid this problem. Proxies are independent and the organization can not impose restrictions on the network outside your network. As a proxy site take no longer than using a single browser window, it's much faster to call support Technical and seek permission to remove specific sites from the lists of the filter. This would be time consumption and therefore could cause problems and prevent employees or students progress in their work.
Some countries also use content filters to block its residents or citizens of finding some information or material on the Internet that is not approved by their government or regime in power. Residents of these countries routinely use proxy sites to access good news and information from the outside world. Another great advantage of using proxy servers is that the IP address and other details that the user is not logged. This helps ensure that the user can maintain a degree of anonymity and privacy.
Web sites you visit online routinely record and log certain information about you and can even create a profile of your surfing habits. The worst thing is that I or do not know what they do with that information. Certain pieces of information is not a problem, but some, especially web sites are becoming more sophisticated in monitoring and record any details they do. The information recorded and stored and what they do with it varies from place to place. The most common pieces of information that are stored are your IP address, browser type, geographical location, ISP, address MAC, referring web page or site and many others. This is just a small list of what you can record about you.
