If you want to setup a proxy server, you have two choices. The first is to setup a web based proxy and the second is to setup a dedicated proxy server. Web based are easy and can be setup in minutes, but they aren’t the best proxy server solution. If hiding your IP and identity online is important, setting up a non-web based proxy server is the right choice.
Web based proxies are simple to setup. Just get some standard website hosting from any web company, upload the files and in minutes you have a web based proxy up and running. The downside is that web based proxies are severely limited in what they can do. Many have javascript, cookies and many other features that websites require disabled. This makes using web based proxies limited in just what websites you can access and what you can actually view or upload online.
A better solution is setting up an actual proxy server. This might sound hard, but it isn’t. Proxies servers are much better than web based proxies because they are not limited in what they can and can’t do. They also provide 100% anonymity online and there is no way for anyone to know that you are even using a proxy server while you are accessing a website. This is the ultimate solution to getting a super fast and reliable proxy to use online.
Web-based proxies are definitely not the right way to setup a proxy server. Instead, go for a proxy server that runs on its own server and offers the highest levels of anonymity and allows you to surf the internet just as you would from your own home computer.
