Why are white Americans so upset about the term "African American"?

I'm white and striker in the UK! there to call the White British, Middle Eastern Asians and black Africans in general, but all of nationality wise all fall under the same flag and all British! then why Americans are so hung up that distinction? since I've been here in the states I've had a lot of that tell me you are Irish strip because youer ancestors, or German, because his Ancesetors were, but for some reason among many types of conservatives I found that (mostly all white) seems to be a differance with the black Africans from their ancestors by proxy! It's a shame, because history of countries with slavery? or is a color-blind thing, why do white Americans start calling Black, Black, N * gger, etc., first instead of America to start? I know that slaves did not have a choice in what is called! it was all over for white int start, but at least my country we call them African and N * gro … lol!

This is a question of a citizen of the country where the term "Asia" refers almost only people from India and Pakistan? There is nothing wrong with the term "black." "African American" is too pretentious for many us, and it is inaccurate because "African Americans" could also apply to a person with Dutch heritage born in Cape Town. In any case, sure as hell beats "Paki". "It's a shame because their history of countries with slavery?" Speak for yourself.
