What is a proxy? (File2hd.com)?

file2hd.com was more or less where I have all my music. Is simple: just enter the myspace url and then BAM! you got music. But now myspace has changed the format and does not really work unless you use the "proxy" thing what does this mean? and it does not really work. Could someone please just explain all this to please?!

I've never used that site, but just tried to download my own music and says you need to use a proxy. Of course, you have to use a proxy SUS. Oh, and its proxy OF COURSE costs money.
