cant get on internet think its because of proxy?

today i downloaded a proxy thing that was like called a proxy searcher or something like that. any ways all i know is that it got several proxy’s on my computor at the same time and started to bog down my pc so i deleted the program. but then for some reason i cant get on internet explorer now (that’s why im using my brothers Computer) and even stranger i can use other programs that are connected to the internet like lime wire and some online games? i was thinking that the proxy program might have screwed up my ip address or something.

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
Under Proxy server, uncheck everything including “use a proxy server.”
That will remove it and u shud be able to access the internet.
