proxy server?

Does anyone know how to make my mac using a proxy server. I know that proxy servers to hide your IP address to be more difficult for people to track and I wanted to become invisible (kind of) when I'm off to download limewire and azureus. I have no idea what do and I'm not an expert on Mac OS X. I also heard that you need to enter an IP address to you through the route or something. Thank you for your help
