proxy settings in firefox 3.5

Problem with internet browsers?

So the past few weeks I had problems with my internet. I am connected to wireless (Linksys) and when I'm at my regular place I have 3.5 bar Internet signal. When I try to open AIM logs in fine, so I know that the connection is sufficient, but when I try to open Firefox or IE will not load, but sometimes it is loaded and loaded when the browser goes to work. but if I close the browser and try to open to go online again I have to open and close many times before it actually works again. but, strangely enough is, when I have internet is 5.5 bar usually works well. I'm not sure if I have a virus or what is wrong. I know there is a connection, however, since you can always access objective, obviously, has the internet. Norton removed, messy w / proxy settings, I have done much research on this but nothing seems to help me. tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, nothing happened. I have this problem with all browsers, but not with instant messengers.

It could be a problem with two different applications with each other and who do not like that. Something in the taskbar, maybe. It sounds more like the Firefox application is not working properly. Because if you use another web browser, and it works, it would not be the Internet connection at all. I would like to remove and re-download Firefox. Hope that helps:)
