I want to help with proxy servers. Anyone competent enough to help?
First I'm sorry for being so rude on the question. In fact, I have asked several computer-related issues here, but I never had answers that were helpful. I doubt the REAL experts team visit the Computer and Internet responses. Well my question goes like: I want to chat on MSN Messenger from my university. But it is MSN Messenger and many other websites have been known web messenger blocked by the network administrator here. Moreover, many famous proxy servers have also been blocked. Luckily, I found a proxy server "www.scoobidoo.net." Now the problem is that it opens the website of WebMessenger "www.ebuddy.com" and show me online at my touch, but all it shows me the connection failed, while I'm in line and never seeing my contact list. Please help!
If I were the network administrator at your university (which was only 7 years) not only block access to websites. I also connection firewall to block ports used by MSN Messenger (and every other messenger service to my knowledge). Thus, even if you use a proxy and "connected" would not be able to send or receive messages, because the port is blocked by using the firewall. Your network administrator knows what he is doing. You are experiencing the exact symptoms you would if you were trying to get past my safety. There is a solution to your problem. Your network administrator even before forward.
