MSN Messenger why isn't working on my laptop?

Go to getlive.com and download the Live Essentials Pack, which is sure Messenger has the latest generation. If this fails, check if you use a router for Internet access. If so, might have to create a port for connection or port activation for the range of ports used by Messenger. The list of ports is documented in the Messenger support site and is a good idea to check ports in any case, because Messenger works much better when properly configured on the router.
