Proxy for windows?
I have a static IP address virgin media. I have 4 nodes connected to a central point (router) from where they go online on the network. if I connect all 4 computers in the network, while static ip is used by all four nodes. However, there is a person who can help me out wid this where I tel how to use the proxy settings so that my system IP address can change everything. In other words, my address Static IP is not being broadcast on the Internet instead of the four different IP will be transmitted. Im using Windows XP on all systems. I know about setting Brower proxy. Thanks
Your ISP has given you a static IP address. This address has been assigned to your router that acts as a mask for machines connected behind the router. Each node is behind the router and the IP address assigned by the router. The router is basically the gateway to the Internet for machines. All requests are channeled through the router, which is why logging indicates that Internet communication comes from an IP address. If you wanted each machine is responsible for its own static IP address, which willl need for your reserve three IP addresses and ISP you will need to use a different hardware device called a router then a hub. But I do not know why you want to do this.
